Water is always surrounding the plant roots in a hydroponic setup. Because water and nutrients are always present, it allows plants to grow faster and stronger. Plants can be harvested early which can result in more plants being planted per season. Another advantage of having water always present is that it minimizes the space needed to garden. Since the roots do not have to stretch outwards, the nutrients which should be allocated to that task can be used in growing. The tank solution should be routinely changed once every week; it should be a entire change of solution. It is possible to adjust the EC and pH with additives however it is cleaner to do a full change. This is because the solution may lack micro nutrients or it may also be infected with root rot also known as Phytium. In cases where there is a ready to use nutrient solution, to lower pH use lemon juice or any other phosphoric acid. In cases where there is a injector ready, use a sulphuric acid to lower the pH.
