Because water and nutrients are always present, it allows plants to grow faster and stronger. Plants can be harvested early which can result in more plants being planted per season. The tank solution should be routinely changed once every week; it should be a entire change of solution. It is possible to adjust the EC and pH with additives however it is cleaner to do a full change. This is because the solution may lack micro nutrients or it may also be infected with root rot also known as Phytium. In cases where there is a ready to use nutrient solution, to lower pH use lemon juice or any other phosphoric acid. In cases where there is a injector ready, use a sulphuric acid to lower the pH.

Before introducing a plant in the previous diseased area, clean up any residue left behind. Diseased Plants should be removed and its area should be cleaned thoroughly with a bleach solution. Before changing any water in the tank, wash it out with a cleaning solution. Remove any residue, and make sure areas which hosted a diseased plant are cleaned properly.
