It uses advanced techniques which can be learned and mastered by almost any experienced gardener. It is convenient as hydroponics allow garden setups to be started almost anywhere as long as certain requirements are met. The nutrient concentration of a hydroponic garden is often referred to as the EC level. If your hydroponic garden consists of Grodan plants, they would require less fertilizer then what they would need in a soil based garden. This is because of the technical system of hydroponic gardens. In soil gardens the nutrients in fertilizers are not all absorbed by the plants, because the soil acts like a buffer. In a hydroponic set up, there is nothing acting as a buffer, and all the nutrients from fertilizers are easily absorbed by the plants. It is a general rule that EC and pH should never be lower then 5 and higher then 7, as the plant would not be able to absorb any nutrients.

To clean the clogged dripper, dip it into a vinegar solution and scrub if necessary. If the dripper is far to clogged, consider soaking it in water prior to the vinegar solution. Keep drippers nearby so they can be used as replacements whenever needed.
