A plant can be stressed when it desires nutrients but can not get any. With hydroponic techniques, plants are never stressed. Air, nutrients, and sunlight are always available to the plants with a hydroponic setup. Before changing any water in the tank, wash it out with a cleaning solution. Remove any residue, and make sure areas which hosted a diseased plant are cleaned properly.
